In 1989, in Mount Gambier South Australia the first James Morrison Jazz scholarship was held.

Some twenty years later, this event has grown into a prestigious and well established event - not only encompassing the original scholarship, but also the City of Mount Gambier National Stage Band Awards and the Generations in Jazz Vocal Scholarship.

However, this is not just an event – it is a musical and life experience!

Both students and Music Directors have the opportunity to see and hear other great musicians, mix and mingle with old and new friends, and to learn more about their craft – all in the atmosphere of a common passion "music".

The "spirit of the weekend" is so hard to put into words, and it really is one that has to be experienced to fully understand what it means.
Please consider the opportunity for any young musician(s) that you know to participate in this event either as:

Solo instrumentalist – James Morrison Jazz Scholarship

Secondary School Stage Band
City of Mount Gambier National Stage Band Awards
(Four Divisions of entry ranging from Div 1 most experienced to Div 4 very new bands)

Jazz Vocalists - Generations in Jazz Vocal Scholarship

The weekend is fully catered for as part of the registration package – so all you have to do is get to Mount Gambier, South Australia on the weekend of 14th – 16th May 2010.

It would truly be our pleasure to have you join us on this weekend.

If there is any further information or assistance that you require, that isn’t covered in this information booklet, please contact Karyn Roberts, Executive Officer.

Warm wishes,

THE BOARD OF GENERATIONS IN JAZZ
