Generations in Jazz is now a well established event in the Australian jazz calendar, now in its 21st year.

It is held in Mount Gambier, South Australia in May each year and brings together many of Australia's most talented young jazz musicians to participate in and compete for the James Morrison Jazz Scholarship, the City of Mount Gambier National Stage Band Awards and the Generations in Jazz Vocal Scholarship.

The weekend in May provides an environment for young musicians to perform and learn in a relaxed atmosphere, share fellowship with their peers, and the opportunity to hear professionals like James and John Morrison, Daryl Somers and Graeme Lyall perform.

Many schools now make this an annual event with some bands travelling great distances from interstate. We acknowledge your dedication and commitment to your music craft.

Most importantly though, we welcome you and sincerely encourage you to join in every facet of this event and experience and enjoy this bond we share through the jazz idiom.
