DIVISION FOUR

Music Directors are asked to nominate the division of entry by the choice of set piece listed below. The choice is at the discretion of the Music Director and should reflect the standard and ability of the band.

All bands participating will be required to perform:


"JAZZ IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS"

JAZZ IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS has a catchy theme supported by a swing/shuffle feel, which alternates throughout the chart. The saxophones have a little 'soli' feature. There is an optional written trumpet solo and the drummer also gets a 'look in'.

There are two versions of this arrangement, printed back to back. The first arrangement has a full Big Band instrumentation. The second arrangement has a Small Group (Mix & Match) instrumentation – it is also in an easier key, with easier ranges and does not have a key change.

This chart also has vocal lyrics with some scat lyrics - with 3 part harmonies.
