Each year Generations in Jazz engages an exceptional team of volunteers to undertake tasks that directly contribute to the efficient and successful delivery of the festival.  Thank you to all of our volunteers who have made the festival possible in the previous years, and welcome back. To our new volunteers, thank you for taking the plunge and joining us for the first time. Be prepared for an unforgettable event, and don’t be surprised if you become hooked for life!

As we move closer to the event we ask all volunteers who wish to be involved (old and new) to complete the Registrations Form and relevant paperwork. This form will assist the Volunteer Committee in allocating specific roles that best suit your interests and abilities and to ensure that all those on the festival site are provided a safe worksite.

The Volunteer Handbook covers important information that we ask that you read prior to completing your registration. As part of the handbook you will also find a brief description of the key volunteer positions that we require filling for 2018.

Once we receive your completed registration form we will allocate roles based on your preferences provided, however please note that we cannot guarantee that you will get your preferred task.

To ensure the Festival runs smoothly and to ensure that we provide volunteers with as much information to be successful in their roles, each volunteer will be required to attend a Volunteer Briefing in the week leading up to the event. This briefing is also to be attended by past volunteers and all those involved in the festival through the many service clubs who also provide additional support.

Please mark one of the following dates in your calendar.

Volunteer Briefing

Sunday 29 April, 4:30PM              or         Tuesday 1 May, 6:00PM

You will be provided with lanyards passes, volunteer caps and specific information to your work area will also be given at this sessions. In keeping with the Festival’s community focus, we encourage volunteers to join in and assist with a range of jobs before and during the Festival.  There are many volunteering opportunities here that suit people with different time commitments. If you are aware of anybody that might want to join our great group of volunteers, please pass on this information.

Forms can be completed and emailed to volunteers@generationsinjazz.com.au, or alternatively these can also be posted to Generations in Jazz, PO Box 1098, Mount Gambier SA 5290 or dropped into Chapman’s Newsagency at 11 Commercial Street West Mount Gambier.

If you have any questions about your volunteer service to Generations in Jazz, please do not hesitate to contact us via email at volunteers@generationsinjazz.com.au.
